Research Summary

Cristina Hernandez-Quevedo is Technical Officer at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (WHO), based at LSE Health. Cristina''s research focuses on equity in health care, in particular, cross-country analysis of the socio-economic inequalities in health across the European Union Member States.

Cristina obtained her MSc in Health Economics at the University of York, after a BSc in Economics at University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain.

Cristina gained her PhD in Economics at the University of York, studying reporting bias of self-reported measures of health, the measurement of socio-economic inequalities in health across the European Union and the persistence of health outcomes across time, focusing on health limitations. During her PhD at York, Cristina worked as a Research Fellow in an EU-funded project known as ECuity Project, lead by Professor Andrew Jones (University of York) and Professor Eddy van Doorslaer (Erasmus University Rotterdam).
