Biography

Harvard Medical School

Courtney Harris is a transplant infectious disease fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. She completed a chief residency year prior to her fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she completed residency. As an educator, she is a preceptor at Harvard Medical School in clinical skills courses, has led curriculum development in quality improvement, and has experience running one of the largest internal medicine program's social media accounts. As a leader, she has been involved in organized medicine at a local, state, and national level, with formative experiences as a Board of Trustee representative for the Minnesota Medical Association for four years, founder of the Minnesota Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) Council of Resident and Fellows (CRFM) where she served as chair, and serves on the national ACP CRFM. She is currently working to grow the Transplant ID (TxID) Early Career Network, contributes to reviewing literature for transplantid.net, and is the creator of the Women in ID (WinID) Network Book Club. Her track record in leadership, education, and clinical excellence have led to recognition with several awards from her residency program, the Zumbro Valley Medical Society’s Outstanding Young Physician Award, and the Massachusetts Infectious Disease Society’s Kass Award for Clinical Excellence. She has published research on improving gender equity in academic medicine, presented nationally on clinical research in infectious disease, and is currently working on clinical research projects in infections in heart and lung transplantation and medical education scholarship.
