Mr. Constant Van Aerschot is the Asia Pacific Director for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

He is a sustainability and construction sector expert. He supports member companies in Asia to learn, share and adopt latest sustainability tools, standards and methodologies and helps them embed these in business strategy, decision making processes and operations.

Constant sits on the board of two non-profit organisations. He is member of the Executive Council at the UN-ESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN), which is the United Nations’ Asia Pacific hub that promotes cooperation among countries to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.

He is a regular invited guest lecturer at INSEAD, SMU, NUS and ESSEC and an editorial advisor to the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA). Prior to this, he was invited by Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) to review the 3rd Green Building Masterplan.

Before moving to Singapore in 2013, he was VP Foresight for the cement manufacturer Lafarge, a corporate strategist at the telecommunications equipment company Alcatel, and a practicing civil engineer in Switzerland, Germany and in the UK, mainly for ARUP. He holds a MSc in Civil Engineering (ETHZ, Switzerland), an MBA (Cranfield University, UK) and a diploma in Directorship (SMU, Singapore).
