Background

Chun-Hui Miao is an associate professor of economics in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial organization and microeconomic theory.

Research

His research has largely focused on the theoretical aspects of three areas: the effect of consumer bias on firm behavior in durable-goods markets, the licensing methods of technology standards and the issue of compatibility/standardization in technology innovation. Miao has published articles in journals such as the European Economic Review, the International Journal of Industrial Organization and the Journal of Industrial Economics.
