Biography

Chris is an associate professor and Enterprise Fellow in Education Futures at the University of South Australia. Prior to joining UniSA, Chris was a senior lecturer in higher education curriculum and assessment with Melbourne CSHE. Chris earned his doctorate from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 2004 and has held several higher education positions in the culturally diverse contexts of New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. He is the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in research and teaching practice.

Chris’ research focuses on innovative approaches to assessment, feedback and learning engagement. He is especially interested in assessment and feedback-enabling technologies and how these may interact with complex learner-centred systems, such as ePortfolios. He has authored over fifty publications on related topics and has received over 2.35 million AUD in external, competitive research funding.
