Sauder School of Business

Christie is the Executive Director of the Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics at UBC Sauder School of Business. She is a national expert on social and environmental investing and governance.

Before joining UBC Sauder in 2016, Christie spent more than 15 years at socially responsible and impact investing firms Sustainalytics (then Jantzi Research Associates), NEI Investments (Ethical Funds) and Purpose Capital (now Rally Assets).

She has more than two decades of diverse board experience, having served as a director of cooperatives, non-profits and private companies. She currently serves on the boards of Vancity and a multi-employer pension plan, and is a member of the BC Securities Commission Stakeholder Forum and a climate governance expert with the Canadian Climate Law Initiative.

She has spoken to dozens of industry and professional groups including the Institute of Corporate Directors, Directors College, Chartered Financial Analysts Society, Canadian Association for Corporate Growth, Chartered Professional Accountants, Conference Board of Canada, International Corporate Governance Network, and the Governance Professionals of Canada.

She is a regular media commentator, whose work and views have been covered by tv, print and radio media including the Globe and Mail, CBC, Report on Business Magazine, Business in Vancouver, Le Devoir, La Presse, and Radio Canada, among others.

Christie has an undergraduate degree from University of Victoria and a graduate degree from McGill University, studied Chinese in Beijing, and speaks both Canada’s official languages.
