Dr Rowley is a well known figure in the employment and human resource management and Asia business and management areas.

He is the Editor of the journal 'Asia Pacific Business Review' and 'Journal of Chinese HRM' and is an Editorial Board member for leading international journals. He holds several Visiting Professorships and Distinguished Scholar positions at leading Asian universities.

He acts as an evaluator for several funding bodies and universities internationally. He is a respected author and has published over 550 articles, books, book chapters and other contributions and knowledge transfer outputs. He has worked and published with eminent and world-reknowned thought leaders and management gurus, such as Dave Ulrich. He has also written for several international business journals, magazines and newsletters, as below:

He was the founding Director of the Centre for Research on Asian Management.
