Biography

Georgia Tech Professional Education

Concentrates on exploitation and reconstruction of information in the form of signals, communication protocols, and application and embedded binaries. Determines hardware and software vulnerabilities and reconstructs signals to determine overt and covert methods of exploitation. Threat countermeasures span a wide range, from "conventional" radio frequency (RF) jamming/denial-of-service to offensive computer network operations tactics.

Specialties: Reverse Engineering Embedded Firmware, Vulnerability Analysis and Exploitation, Reverse Engineering of Electronics, Cyber Security, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Warfare, RF

Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Lab at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, an applied R&D center affiliated with Georgia Tech.

CIPHER Lab is a leader in developing the technologies that secure, defend, and respond to threats within our country’s information, distribution, and network systems. CIPHER Lab provides high-impact solutions to some of today’s most challenging cybersecurity problems for both government and industry, while also developing far-reaching high-risk high-payoff cyber technologies to respond to future threats.

The lab’s 250+ engineers and scientists execute research in five primary areas:

  • Secure software systems and collaboration tools
  • Resilient network systems engineering
  • Reverse engineering, vulnerability identification, and protection of embedded systems
  • Cyber defense and threat intelligence based on machine learning and other analytic techniques
  • Quantum computing and quantum sensing
