Biography

Dr Chengete Chakamera is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Transport and Supply Chain Management (TSCM) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He is an accomplished academic and researcher, educator, and consultant with over 5 years of experience. Dr Chengete has been teaching several modules, including Research Project, Rail Transport, Transport Economics, and Purchasing Management module. He has tutored Macroeconomics & Microeconomics (Rhodes University) and Monetary Economics (Unisa).

Chengete has an extensive postgraduate student supervision record. With a strong background in Economics & Econometrics, Chengete has integrated his research interests into Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. His diverse research interests cut across the economics of transport and logistics, international trade, tourism, development economics, financial economics, monetary economics, and social investment & development.

His research impact on Google Scholar shows 62 citations and an h-index of 2 since 2016. Chengete participated in various research projects for organisations such as the International Growth Centre (IGC), Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI).

Dr Chengete holds a PhD in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master's degree (with distinction) and Honours in Economics from Rhodes University, South Africa. He received a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Economics (first class) from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. Chengete also holds a postgraduate certificate from Vrije University (VU) Amsterdam in the Netherlands, focusing specifically on two major areas: Quantitative Financial Risk Management and Real Estate Management. He also has a certificate in 'Future Leaders in Digital Business', obtained from the Wits Business School.
