Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management

Chen Zhang is an associate professor in Leadership and Organization Management at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management. She received her Bachelor's degree in Economics and Master's degree in Management from Tsinghua University, and her PhD in Business Administration (Management & Organizations) from University of Michigan.

Chen studies human behaviors in organizations, and her main research interests include time, energy, and well-being issues at work, workday design and dynamics, and proactive behaviors in organizations. Her research has been published on top-tier academic journals including Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, as well as on practitioner-oriented outlets such as Harvard Business Review. She has received a Research Excellence Award (2020) from the School of Economics and Management.

Chen currently teaches courses at both the doctoral level (e.g., Research Methodology in Management) and the undergraduate level (e.g., Management as a Perspective, Introduction to Management and Business, Introduction to Communication). She has received the Teaching Excellence Award from both Tsinghua University (2020) and the School of Economics and Management (2020).
