Biography

Charlie Shorter is a Senior Real Estate Advisor with over 30 years of experience providing advisory services to developers, public agencies, community organizations, arts and cultural institutions, and colleges and universities. Based in New York City, he has worked throughout the United States and internationally. His expertise is in urban revitalization projects, strategic planning, market and financial analysis, developer solicitation / selection, and economic impact studies.

He is currently a board member of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) and a Trustee for the City University of New York, and serves on the Real Estate and Facilities Committee. Charlie is also a board member of the New 42nd Street Corporation which is responsible for developing the theaters and retail in the Times Square area of New York City. He is member  of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where he serves on the Public Development Infrastructure Council.  Previously, Charlie was a board member and former Chair of the Studio Museum in Harlem and a member of the Presidents Council at The Cooper Union.

Charlie holds degrees from Princeton and Columbia Universities. A frequent lecturer / speaker on real estate trends, Charlie was for 20 years an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Master of Science in Real Estate at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation.
