Bio

Catherine D. Weber, J.D. is a senior lecturer in business law at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business.  Prior to joining the faculty at SMU, she practiced law in the areas of bankruptcy and taxation.  For approximately 25 years, Catherine has been a member of the faculty at the Cox School teaching graduate and undergraduate students in the areas of accounting ethics, employment law, and general business law.  In addition, Weber co-teaches a Texas State Board of Public Accountancy approved continuing education course in accounting ethics.  For 10 years, she was a member of the selection committee of the "Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award", serving as chairperson of that committee for three years.  Weber also maintained a mediation practice for several years.

Weber is the recipient of a "Distinguished ## Teaching Award" and numerous "Outstanding ## Teaching Awards" from the Cox School of Business, the "HOPE Professor Award" given by the Office of Residence Life and Student Housing, and a grant from the AT&T Foundation for Corporate Governance. She is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and Academy of Legal Studies in Business.
