Presentation

My PhD research is principally concerned with how strategy is constructed and deployed as a mode of organizing. Broadly, I aim to do research that is attentive to the everyday practices relating to strategic processes in organizations. As part of this I am investigating strategy emergence, and how some practices rather than others come to be understood as ''strategic'' in particular organizations, and in particular, how dynamism and continuity combine in strategy emergence. I am similarly interested in how different actors in organizations strategize given tensions between pressures for change and the persistence of formal organizational design.

Primary research areas

  • Strategy and organizing
  • Practice-oriented approaches to strategy
  • Strategy emergence
