Foster School of Business

A certified leadership coach (PCC, CHIC) and longtime business professor at the University of Washington Foster School of Business, Cate loves working with professionals to become their own best leader. A frequent panelist and keynote on issues related to leadership development, Cate also creates and leads programs likethe UW Foster Women Board Director Development Program, MBA “Women at the Top,” named by Forbes as one of the 10 “most innovative” MBA courses, and “Better Together: Inclusive Leadership for Men and Women. She is certified in (and passionate about) the StrengthsFinder for Leadership and Team Building; and the EQ-I Emotional Intelligence Assessment.

Cate has directed a corporate communications department, won awards as a journalist, and led programs in India and the UK. Holder of an MFA in creative writing, she believes in the power of the personal story to inspire teams and build thought leadership. She is also a certified Creativity Coach.
