Carlos Gálvez-Peña

Professor of History, Associate Dean Of Students at Undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru

Biography

My teaching of Early Modern History (European and Colonial Latin American) challenges students and favors the identification of networks and the building of global connections. A significant stress in given to the construction of a discourse on governance and early forms of state, for history should foster the search for citizenship and civic values. My administrative duties also are present in my vision of history: the impact of bureaucracies and the building of institutions is key to my vision of historical processes in Latin America.
