Biography
In September 2012 I was appointed Lecturer in Chemical Engineering in the school Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at University of Manchester.
Previously, I was a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University (2011-2012), funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy (DoE), working with Prof. Fernando Escobedo in the self-assembly of anisotropic colloidal particles using computer simulation techniques.
From 2008-2011 I worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, funded by the EPSRC, with Professors Erich A. Müller, George Jackson, Amparo Galindo, and Claire S. Adjiman, in the development of coarse-grained models for phase equilibria calculations, and studying the self-assembly of non-conventional discotic liquid crystals using computer simulations.
I graduated in Chemical Engineering from Metropolitan Autonomous University in 2003. In 2007, I obtained my PhD in Physical Chemistry from University of Guanajuato, funded by CONACyT, working with Professor Alejandro Gil-Villegas in the development computer simulation methodologies for ionic systems.
