Prof. Dr. med. Carl-Hermann Hempen, Munich, internist, naturopathy, medical informatics
Carl-Hermann Hempen (born 1948) runs one of the most important practices for Chinese medicine and is one of the pioneers of the reliable transfer of Far Eastern medical knowledge into our culture. As a founding member, he was vice president of SMS in 1978 and its chairman from 1984-2002. He has been a training manager since 1984 and is responsible for the advanced training program.
He is also an examiner for the acupuncture department at the Bavarian State Medical Association and a lecturer at the University of Witten-Herdecke. He is an authorhigh-circulation specialist publications that have contributed significantly to the spread and acceptance of Chinese medicine in recent decades. In July 2011 he was appointed honorary professor of traditional Chinese medicine at the Technical University of Munich.
