In January 2015, Bud became founding director of the Center for Digital Engagement at Eastern Michigan University. The CDE currently sponsors the Search Marketing Workshop, a monthly breakfast series, and a Digital Media Clinic targeted at high tech startups (in collaboration with Ann Arbor SPARK). Previously, Bud created the hands-on search marketing program at Eastern Michigan University (in collaboration with Google).

EMU’s search marketing alumni currently work in significant roles at regional and national employers such as Google, Apple, Quicken Loans, Starcom, iProspect, and Team Detroit. Bud’s prior professional experience includes University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Deloitte & Touche, Arthur D. Little, and Catholic Relief Services. Bud has a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and a BS from Georgetown University.
