Presentation

Britta Gammelgaard´s main research interest is Supply Chain Management & Logistics. More specifically topics such supply chain innovation processes, knowledge creation in the SCM discipline as well as city logistics are prioritised research areas. Her work has been published in Danish as well as international journals, such as Journal of Business Logistics (JBL), International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (IJPD&LM) and International Journal of Operations and Production Management. She has received several awards for her research and research management activities including the Danish Transport research Award, Hedorfs Fonds Transportforskningspris.

Professor Gammelgaard is Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Logistics Management and has served for several years as European Editor of Journal of Business Logistics, Associate Editor of Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM) and member of the Editorial Advisory Board of International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (IJPDLM). She has guest edited numerous special issues in logistics and supply chain scientific journals.  

In 2006 she initiated the CSCMP European Research Seminar/ERS where she is still taking a leading role. Presently, she is member of the CSCMP Academic Strategies Committee. Further, she has been a member of the NOFOMA (Nordic Logistics Research Network) Scientific Committee and was the initiator of the NOFOMA doctoral consortium, Nordlog in 1996. She is widely used in Scandinavia for Doctoral assessment committees and has successfully supervised several doctoral candidates.

Presently, Gammelgaard is member of the board of effektivitet.dk and is serving on the assessment committee of the Danish SCM Prize since 2011.

Britta Gammelgaard is academic head of the MSc concentration in Supply Chain Management, coordinator of the master minor in Maritime Business and Strategic Procurement. Last but not least, she is the CBS responsible for the tri-continental bachelor program “Global Supply Chain & Logistics Management” in collaboration with University of British Columbia (Canada) and Chinese University of Hong Kong- Shenzhen (China).
