Jones Graduate School of Business

Lee Ann Butler is a Lecturer of Management at Rice University and has been teaching business law and related courses since 2001 - first at Louisiana State University, later at the University of Texas at Dallas, and, since 2010, here at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. She teaches in both the full-time and professional MBA programs. Prior to teaching, Lee Ann practiced in the area of financial transactions law both as a litigator (creditors’ rights defense) and, later, as a regulator (as the attorney for the State of Louisiana’s Department of the Treasury.) She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Business and her Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from Indiana University and she is (inactively) licensed as an attorney in the states of Indiana, Louisiana, and Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, textile arts, and fly fishing with her husband and two young daughters.
