Biography

Bauer College of Business

Briceön Wiley is the Professor of Practice at C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. He served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Interinstitutional Graduate Program in Biostatistics for Cancer Research, which is a collaboration between Rice University and MD Anderson Cancer Center under the supervision of Christine B. Peterson. His academic journey began at Baylor University, where he pursued both his undergraduate and graduate studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistical Science, studying under the guidance of James D. Stamey and Dean M. Young. Additionally, he completed a B.B.A. in the Baylor Business Fellows program, specializing in Finance, French, and Mathematics.

During his doctoral studies, his research primarily revolved around parameter estimation in cases where data were subject to misclassification, encompassing both under- and over-counting scenarios. He achieved this by developing confidence intervals based on integrated-likelihood-ratio methodology.

Apart from his research endeavors, he has a strong passion for teaching, with experience teaching various courses during his time in graduate school at Baylor University and McLennan Community College. His teaching portfolio includes courses such as Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, Elementary Statistics, Business Data Analysis, and Introduction to Business Analytics.
