Background
Brad Stratton has taught professional communication at the University of South Carolina since 1999. Prior to joining the university, Stratton was a freelance writer and consultant to business and government entities. He has written successful grants for nonprofit and government agencies and successful RFP bids for business clients. He has also assisted in rewriting and editing college-level textbooks.
Stratton’s early career included working as a public information officer and director of communications. More recently, he has developed continuing education programs in conjunction with the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University and the Texas City Management Association. His other published work includes two multicultural history booklets funded by the U.S. Department of the Interior and professional education materials for the University of North Texas, the American Lung Association and others. Stratton holds master''s and bachelor''s degrees from the University of Oklahoma.
