Smith School of Business
Boyd Davis has worked as a consultant since 1997 in computational thermochemistry and process development and is president of Kingston Process Metallurgy Inc. (www.kpm.ca). The company, with about 20 employees, focuses on lab scale and pilot chemical process development for the metallurgical industry for all metals and inorganic chemicals; and owns a 12,000 ft2 main laboratory and a 10,000 ft2 pilot plant in Kingston, Ontario.
Aside from his company projects, Boyd volunteers his time at Queen’s University. Boyd maintains an active academic research program, and currently supervises two students.
He has authored over 20 technical papers and has 8 patents and active patent applications. Boyd is active with TMS-AIME, was the president of the Metallurgical Society of CIM in 2014 and was awarded the Past Presidents' Memorial Medal in 2001 for service to CIM. He was also the initiator and co-chair of Extraction 2018, held in August 2018 in Ottawa.
