Mason School of Business

Professor Bob Williams holds the position of Clinical Lecturer at the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary. His areas of expertise are leadership, management, and marketing. While at William & Mary, he has taught in these subject areas for the top-ranked undergraduate and MBA programs and for custom executive education programs at the Center for Corporate Education. He has twice been named the recipient of the Faculty Excellence award, once by the undergraduate students and once by the MBA students. He previously held academic appointments at Arizona State University at the Cary School of Business. He holds a BS degree from Texas Christian University and an MBA from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Prior to Mr. Williams’ academic career, he worked 26 years at DuPont in numerous staff and line positions. The last six years of his career at DuPont he held the position of VP of Marketing and Communications. Following his years at DuPont, he held the positions of VP of Public Affairs for San Diego Gas and Electric and Senior VP of Marketing and Government Relations for Sharp Healthcare, also in San Diego. In 1998, Mr. Williams started his own business, The Spurgroup, a company dedicated to helping consumer and industrial businesses develop their business and competitive strategies and marketing plans. In addition, he coached and counselled managers and perspective managers and held leadership seminars. Among his clients were Motorola, Intel, AlphaGene, American Diamond Instruments, and DuPont.
