INSEAD Business School

Alexandra Roulet is an Assistant Professor of Economics at INSEAD. She graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, and earned her PhD in Economics at Harvard University.

Alexandra’s research focuses on labor and public economics and has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review or the Journal of Public Economics. In her ongoing projects, she explores the effect of job loss and unemployment on health. In addition, she examines, with the French Public Employment Service, how to facilitate the geographic mobility of job seekers, the importance of non-cognitive skills in job search, and ways of boosting self-esteem of young disadvantaged job seekers. She also studies the determinants of social mobility in France. Her book Repenser l'Etat (in French), co-authored with Philippe Aghion, was published in 2011.
