Bjorn Cumps has a passion for banking and technology – and sees technology as a great catalyst for change, inspiration, and innovation. He strongly believes the new digital mindset will reshape our current financial landscape – which is why he’s fascinated by FinTech and the way it brings traditional banks, tech companies and digital start-ups together. He’s also interested in topics including challenger banks, open and beyond banking, robo-advisors, DLT and crypto and token economics.

At Vlerick, Bjorn focuses on developing FinTech teaching and research. He leads our FinTech Bootcamp for Masters and MBA students and teaches courses in FinTech, platform business management, gaming and esports. As part of his role as Director of the Centre for Enterprise Architecture & Digital Design, Bjorn is involved in research for business. He’s also the supporting professor for our Gaming & Esports Alumni Club.

Before starting his academic career, Bjorn held various positions at KBC Bank and Insurance.
