Biography

Bart is a leadership consultant who uses evidence-based methods to help individual executives and managers adjust their behavior to become more effective personally, and improve their organizations’ business results. A world-class expert in psychological measurement and assessment, Bart specializes in helping leaders understand themselves, identify their development needs, and make lasting changes that take their success to new levels. He has worked with many of the world’s most important organizations, including Blackstone, Johnson & Johnson, Nike, AMD, Grainger, Hershey’s, Motorola, the U.S. Army, and the National Football League.

Bart is also an associate professor at North Carolina State University, where he serves as Program Coordinator for the Industrial-Organizational Psychology doctoral program. His research and teaching focus on organizational leadership, training methods and evaluation, counterproductive work behavior, and psychological measurement. He serves on the editorial boards of Consulting Psychology Journal: Research and Practice and Drake Management Review, is former editor of the Book Review Section for Personnel Psychology, and serves as ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, and the Journal of Business and Psychology. Bart has co-authored several leader assessment tools, including the Perceived Leader Integrity Scale, the Entrepreneur Core Characteristics Profile, and the Interpersonal Functioning Inventory. In addition to SBCraig & Associates, Bart has worked with consulting organizations such as Deloitte, the Center for Creative Leadership, Executive Development Consulting LLC, Kaiser Leadership Solutions, ReadyFounder Services, Kaplan DeVries Inc., and Human Resource Tactics, LLC.

Bart holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial-organizational psychology from Virginia Tech and a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He lives with his family in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he has been known to indulge in science fiction/fantasy films, hard rock music, and amateur automobile racing.
