Hult Ashridge Executive Education

Dr. Barbara Wang is a full-time professor of cross-cultural leadership, and she is the Associate Dean for China Initiatives. Barbara is an expert in Cross-cultural Leadership & Management and Executive Coaching. She has designed and delivered leadership development programmes and coaching for multinational companies such as ABB, Volvo, Daimler, Continental, Sinopec, China Post, Bank of China and Air China. She also teaches on executive programmes for other universities including Churchill College of University of Cambridge, Peking University and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

Prior to joining Ashridge, Barbara was a Vice President for the Western Management Institute of Beijing. Her commercial experience extends to working for multinational companies in China where she was the Retail Operations Director for CELINE of Louis Vuitton group; and the Global Accounts Director for DHL.

Barbara has graduated with a BA, MBA, and PhD from Cass Business School, her research is in cross-cultural leadership/management. She is the author of two books: Chinese Leadership (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) and Guanxi in the Western Context: Intra-firm Group Dynamics and Expatriate Adjustment (Palgrave Macmillan 2019). She is qualified in many leadership psychometric instruments and a certified executive coach.
