Arjen van Witteloostuijn obtained a BA in Business, Economics and Psychology and a MA in Business and Economics from the University of Groningen before he prepared his PhD on economics at Maastricht University between 1986 and 1990. Coincidently he worked as an assistant and associate professor, until he became a full professor at Durham University. Between 1996 and 1998 he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Maastricht University, however, he also taught at the University of Groningen and Utrecht University.
Today he is full professor at University of Antwerp, Tilburg University and Cardiff Business School. With Antwerp Management School he’s employed as a full professor and Competence Centre Architect since 2015. Furthermore he became founding Dean of the Tilburg School of Governance in 2016. Throughout his career he has supervised 40 PhD candidates, published hundreds of articles in both scientific and popular media and worked as an advisor to a number of commercial enterprises
