Biography

BI Norwegian Business School

Arash Farnoosh holds Graduate Engineering Degrees (French Grandes Ecoles) from both INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) and IFP School. He also holds a Master of Science in Energy and Transfer Engineering from the University of Toulouse. He obtained his PhD from the University of Montpellier at the Centre of Research on Energy Economics & Law.

After approximately one year working in aeronautics during his engineering studies, during which time he worked on projects for techno-economic optimization in an Airbus plant in Toulouse, France, he directed his research and expertise towards the energy sector. He continued his work and research in the field of energetics and was involved in several petroleum projects, particularly the techno-economic study of fracturing and production in tight gas reservoirs at Total in Pau and also carried out research works on structured financing of the refining and petrochemical sector within the BNP Paribas group, a corporate and investment banking.

In 2010, he joined IFP School as a lecturer in the Center for Economics and Management. He has been giving and coordinating courses on power generation, energy sector techno-economics and utility management. He is currently the program supervisor of the Master in Petroleum Economics and Management.

He is also the coordinator for the Executive Master of Management in Energy, in partnership with the BI Norwegian Business School, and the Executive Master of International Oil and Gas Leadership, in partnership with The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva.

His main areas of expertise are energy economics and power generation from both conventional and renewable resources and their associated markets. Moreover, he is a big fan of philosophy and geography.
