Biography
Antwerp Management School
Ans De Vos holds a master in psychology (KU Leuven, 1995) and in Human Resource Management (University of Antwerp, 1996). She obtained her PhD in Applied Economic Sciences from Ghent University (2002) and currently is a professor at the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Management (30%) and Antwerp Management School (70%). Before, she was full-time faculty at Vlerick Business School (2003-2011) and part-time affiliated with the University of Antwerp (10%, 2003-2013). She is also associated with the Department of Work and Organisation Studies, KULeuven (since 2005). During her doctoral studies she was a visiting PhD student at Tilburg University (2000-2002).
As faculty of the University of Antwerp, she currently teaches 'Organizational Behavior', 'Performance, recognition and reward', and 'Leadership and career development' in the FTMasters programs at Antwerp Management School.
The focus of her research is centered around the topics of sustainable careers, career development, career management, employability, and the psychological contract.
In 2015 she published the Handbook of Research on Sustainable Careers (EE Publishing), which has paved the way to theoretical and empirical research on careers from a new perspective that responds to challenges pertaining to careers in the current labor market. With her foundational work on sustainable careers she has not only made an academic contribution to the field of careers, but also inspires the policy debate on this topic and provides relevant input for policy makers at the labor market and within organizational settings.
Ans De Vos is currently Associated Editor of the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology (since 2017) and member of the editorial board of Career Development International and Journal of Managerial Psychology.
Her work has been published in academic journals including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Human Resource Management, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and International Journal of HRM.
