Annemarie McAvoy is a consultant, attorney, and media legal expert.  Ms. McAvoy works at Ernst and Young, specializing in Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing issues.  She also teaches Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School. She is a former federal and state prosecutor, having worked in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions in the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York, and in the Rackets/Investigations unit of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.  Ms. McAvoy also was in-house counsel for financial institutions, having worked at Dean Witter/Morgan Stanley and Citigroup.  She appears frequently as an expert discussing legal  issues, legislation and cases on various television and radio networks, including NBC, Fox5NY, the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, WPIX and Sirius XM, and has written articles published in forbes.com, foxnews.com and Family Security Matters. She graduated valedictorian from St. John’s University and received her JD from Fordham University School of Law.
