Anna Neufeld

Research interests

Anna joined the School of Management as a Teaching Fellow in Finance  (AFL) in 2017. Her teaching covers Research Methods in Empirical Finance, Capital Markets, Derivatives, and Financial Engineering (MSc). Since 2014, Anna has been a Doctoral Researcher and Seminar Leader at Alliance Manchester Business School (fully funded by The University of Manchester, Presidential Scholarship Award, plus ESRC Studentship). She holds an MBA in Banking from SOAS, University of London (2012), an MSc in Quantitative Finance: Risk Management from Manchester Business School (2014, Distinction; Scholarship for Excellent International Students), and a BSc in Corporate Banking (2009, Bonn, Germany).  

Before studying full time at Manchester Business School, Anna has been working in the banking industry in Corporate Banking and Risk Management in Germany for 22 years. Her banking practice included positions as Senior Business Consultant and Credit Officer for Multinational Companies at Deutsche Bank (HQ, Frankfurt). 

Her research interests tie in with her industry experience in corporate finance and banking. In her empirical PhD thesis, she investigated topical issues on corporate debt, private debt renegotiation, credit rating, and capital structure adjustments.
