Biography

I studied at  Oxford (BA) and University College London (MPhil and PhD). My PhD was on the Causal Theory of Properties, for which I was supervised by Professor Michael Martin and Professor Tim Crane. After my PhD, I was a Jacobsen Research Fellow at the University of London (2003-2005), before moving to Cambridge where I was lecturer at Trinity College and director of studies at Churchill and Magdelene (2005-2007).

I have been a permanent lecturer at Manchester University since September 2007. I work part-time, as I have had a few years off having babies and now enjoy spending some of my time looking after them.  In the academic year 2011-2012 I was on AHRC research leave writing papers on substance causation and abilities
