Ann Jorissen is Full Professor of Accounting at the University of Antwerp and Academic Director of the Masterclass Fraud Auditing at the Antwerp Management School. Her research interests relate to the field of financial reporting, earnings management,  management control and corporate governance. She has published in many international academic journals.

She is co-author of a leading textbook on International Financial Reporting  and Analysis  which is used worldwide (Alexander, Britton, Jorissen, Hoogendoorn and Van Mournik, 2017, International Financial Reporting and Analysis, 7th edition, Cengage Learning). She is a member of the editorial board of the following journals: Family Business Review, Accounting in Europe, Journal of Management and Governance and the Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting and was Editor of the European Accounting Review from 1992-1995.

In Belgium she was a member of the High Council of the Economic Profession in Belgium from 2004 until the end of  2013 (= Independent Supervisory Body  of the Accounting and Audit Profession). She is a member of the editorial team of the TAA Journal (Tax, Accounting and Auditing) from 2018 onwards. The TAA Journal is the joint journal of the Institute of Auditors, the Institute of Accountants and Tax consultants and the Institute of  Bookkeepers and fiscal specialists.

At an international level, Ann Jorissen fulfilled several functions in the European Accounting Association ( Board member for Belgium, Member of the Management Committee of the EAA and  Chair of the Conference Committee of the EAA). From 2013 until 2015, she was President of the European Accounting Association. Since  2015 she is a member of the IFRS Advisory Council. The IFRS Advisory  Council provided strategic advice to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the IFRS Foundation.
