The University of Auckland Business School

Andrew is a facilitator, coach and storyteller – helping leaders and organisations connect their people with their purpose.

For the past 15 years, he has led his own communications and facilitation agency while working across business, government, not-for-profit and Iwi sectors. He has developed and delivered communication and engagement strategies, in addition to coaching and facilitating leaders in effective communication and storytelling.

Andrew’s career began in radio news and current affairs with Radio New Zealand, and freelancing in London and Cologne in the 1980s and 90s. He then traded journalism for communications, working as a stakeholder engagement and public affairs specialist for the then Waitakere City Council and Mayor Sir Bob Harvey.

Andrew moved from local government to academia – taking up a role as senior lecturer in communication studies and then as a Public Affairs Manager at AUT University. While at AUT, Andrew also completed a Masters in Communication Studies.

Andrew’s current clients include NZ Story, Aeroqual, Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua, Auckland and Waitematā DHBs, ARUP, The Southern Initiative as well as several SMEs and not for profits. Past clients include Auckland Airport, NZTE, Hawkins Group, Auckland Transport, and Auckland Council.
