Biography

CBS Executive

Andreas Rasche is Professor of Business in Society at the CBS Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (cbsCSR) and Co-Director of the CBS World-Class Research Environment “Governing Responsible Business” (GRB). He has taught courses in the MBA and doctoral programs, chaired Executive Education programs, authored more than 50 academic articles and cases, and published four books. He has collaborated with the United Nations on a number of projects, and served on the United Nations Global Compact LEAD Steering Committee. He is Associate Editor of Business Ethics Quarterly and an Associate Fellow at Warwick Business School. 

Professor Rasche’s research examines the intersection of global governance, corporate sustainability, and the political role of firms. His work has been published in international academic and practitioner journals such as Academy of Management Learning and Education, Organization Studies, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Management Inquiry, Business & Society, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, European Management Journal, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. His latest book, “Building the Responsible Enterprise” (together with Sandra Waddock) was published by Stanford University Press. 

Professor Rasche earned his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) in business administration from EBS Business School in Germany and completed a postdoctoral degree (Dr. habil.) at Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg. He joined CBS from Warwick Business School in 2012.
