Andrea Harriott, MD, PhD, is a neurologist and neuroscientist with current faculty positions at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She received her Bachelor of Science from Morgan State University, a historically black college/university. She later received her medical degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from University of Maryland, Baltimore. She completed a neurology residency program at Mayo Clinic. She is subspecialty-trained in stroke and headache, completing two fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and The John R. Graham Headache Center. She invests her time in treating women with comorbid migraine headaches and vascular disease and researches mechanisms of chronic migraine pain, migraine-associated stroke and post-stroke headache. She is part of the TRANSCENDS (Training in Research for Academic Neurologists to Sustain Careers and Enhance the Numbers of Diverse Scholars) Program and a BIRCWH (Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health) Scholar. She endeavors to impact the lives of women suffering from migraine attacks and their associated comorbid conditions including stroke, preeclampsia, and mental illness.
