EXPERTISE
Amy LaCombe enters her ninth year on the Portico faculty. She has also been a full-time lecturer in the Accounting Department, teaching courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and assurance services (in the M.S.A. program). Amy’s dissertation research focused on whether first generation student status is a predictor of factors such as graduation rate, grade point average, and choice of study.

She previously served as Assistant Dean for Advising in the Carroll School Undergraduate Program, where she had primary responsibilities for advising sophomores and juniors in the Carroll School. She has also taught first year courses like The Courage To Know and Introduction to Ethics.

She is currently the faculty advisor to the Best Buddies chapter at Boston College. Amy has also served as the faculty advisor to AHANA Management Academy and advised students throughout her more than 18 years at Boston College.
