Amy Beebe is the Assistant Director for Women in STEM, a newly established initiative in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin.

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Tyler. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas Tech University with her focus being higher education administration, cross-cultural communication, and strategic leadership.

Amy began her UT Austin career in 2013 as a summer intern for the Advance Placement Summer Institute before transitioning into a full-time role with the College of Natural Sciences (CNS). She held administrative roles supporting the School of Human Ecology advising center, CNS Honors, and the Women in Natural Sciences (WiNS) Program. In 2017 she joined the Women in Engineering Program (WEP) as a Student Program Coordinator in which she developed and coordinated recruitment, retention, and leadership programs to promote the success and advancement of women in engineering until November of 2020. That year Amy took on a new role as Senior Recruiting Officer for the McCombs School of Business. However, she just couldn’t stay away from the incredible work of supporting women in STEM fields so joined the WiSTEM team in January of 2022.

Since her start, Amy has engaged/coordinated/developed many different types of DEI initiatives across UT Austin campus. Amy is active within the campus community whether by holding leadership positions or just being a member of UT Austin’s Academic Counselors Association and Hispanic Faculty & Staff Association. She has also held seats on the UT Austin Faculty Council and various campus committees. Amy received the 2020 Outstanding Staff Award in acknowledgment of her dedicated service. Currently, she serves as District 400 staff representative on the UT Staff Council.

Aside from work and school, Amy enjoys spending time with her partner Nick and their fur-child Jack going on adventures around Austin. She is an avid reader, sports watcher, and anime fan.
