Crawford School of Public Policy
Amanda’s research is focused upon public administration and management in multi-level and comparative context. She has researched the spread of public management reform ideas across countries, in particular about semi-autonomous public agencies including statutory authorities and regulatory agenices, as well as most recently practices and routines of intergovernmental exchanges about performance. Theories of multi-level governance, culture, argumentation, of institutions, organizations and professionals have been prominent in her work. Empirical areas of research have included agency reform, performance measurement, accrual accounting and more recently public management reforms in health/hospital and mental healthcare.
