Experience

Allan has been associated with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) for over 20 years. He currently serves as a Global Solutions Faculty Member and Executive Coach. He is one of a small group of Faculty who has also worked at both our EMEA and APAC campuses. While at the EMEA Campus, he was the Manager of all open enrollment programs and Director of Faculty Development. While in APAC he worked in a Program Design and Delivery role. Allan also serves as a faculty member for many of the Center’s open enrollment program. He is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Before joining the Center on a full-time basis, Allan was Associate Director of Housing and Residential Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He provided training, as well as personal and professional development opportunities, for a staff of over 400 employees. It was during this time that his interest in Public Health work also took hold. In a result he was an active member of, both the Student Health Services Advisory Board, and the Chancellors AIDS Task force. He was a member, and chairman of, the Advisory Board for the Triangle AIDS consortium, which partially funded through the Ryan White Foundation, This consortium provided case and Resource management to people in nine counties.

Allan has designed and delivered programs and workshops in over 30 countries. He is regularly engaged in large scale customized interventions with Global Clients. He has worked with diverse clients in the public and private sector, government agencies, and profit and not-for-profit organizations, throughout North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia.

Current Role

Allan Provides program design, team and group facilitation, and Executive Coaching, primarily in the Health Sector vertical for the Center’s work in Societal Advancement. He is the lead faculty member for several key clients serving the Public Health Community (The Bill and Melinda Gates program for International Public Health Leaders, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which supports both the work with the Cultures of Heath Program, and The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, The Kaye B. Reynolds Trust working with Healthy Places North Carolina, and the Colorado Health Foundation). He has worked with numerous and diverse CCL clients throughout the world, including The World Bank, The Irish Public Health Institute, Habitat for Humanity, Deloitte, The World Food Program, Cone Health, The University of Stellenbosch, The North Carolina Nurses Association, The United States Postal Service, and SC Johnson. As a certified CCL Executive Coach, Allan brings a practical approach to work, helping individual translate theories into application. He has represented CCL at a variety of keynote addresses, workshops, and institutes.

Educational Background

Allan has a master’s degree in counseling from Shippensburg University, and worked in the field of higher education for 25 years. He has sailed around the world (twice) with the Semester at Sea program, and currently serves on the Faculty Advisory Council. This educational program, coordinated through The Institute for Shipboard Education, and hosted through Colorado State University, promotes cultural hands-on service learning with an academic environment.
