Alexandra Beauregard joined the Department of Organizational Psychology in the summer of 2018. Prior to arriving at Birkbeck, Alexandra was Associate Professor in Human Resource Management at Middlesex University Business School, Assistant Professor in Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour at the London School of Economics' Department of Management, and Lecturer in Management (Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management) at the University of Surrey's Business School. She has also worked in social policy positions in the Government of Canada's Department of Industry, Department of Citizenship and Immigration, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
Her research interests are centred on the work-life interface, flexible working arrangements, and diversity management, with a particular focus on gender identity and gender equality. She has published widely on these topics in academic journals and in practitioner outlets, as well as authoring chapters in a number of edited scholarly books and teaching-oriented texts. Alexandra has carried out commissioned research for both public- and private-sector organizations such as Acas, Avon UK, and LinkedIn, and has delivered a number of invited lectures on the topics of gender equality, diversity management, and flexible working to organizations such as the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Citywealth, the Columbia Business School Alumni Association, the Financial Conduct Authority, Forward Ladies, Handelsbanken, KPMG, and Shell. She has also spoken on these topics for mainstream media outlets (e.g., BBC World News, CNN, the Daily Mail, Channel 4 News, BBC Radio FiveLive, Share Radio, City AM).
