Rotterdam School of Management
Dr. Maas is working as Change staff member at the Rotterdam School of Management, and as a staff member of Organising and Changing at the Applied Universities of both Rotterdam and Nijmegen (Netherlands) in the part-time master Human & Organizational Behaviour. He is a retired professor at the University for Humanistics (UvH) in Utrecht (Netherlands). He is also a retired Associate Professor of Organizational Change and Social Integration at the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (RSM/EUR, Netherlands).
Alexander did his BA Sociology in Tilburg, his MSc. Business Administration in Delft, and his PhD in Organization Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He published and (co-) edited a dozen of books (in Dutch) and articles, both in English and in Dutch-language journals, in the field of Organization Studies and Change Studies. publications are available on request at amaas@rsm.nl. Social constructionism, organizational theory, change theory are his primary research interests.
His current research and practice interests include COVID-19 as a transformation process and bridging both theoretically and practically between practical and scientific knowledge in two areas, Change Studies and Organisation studies. In addition, Alexander is an active member of AOM, the Academy of Management, EGOS, the European Group for Organization Studies, and APROS, the Asia-Pacific researchers in Organization Studies. He enjoys teaching in various graduate (Business Administration, Change) and post-graduate programmes (Controlling, and Executive Change Management). He is (has been) active as a consultant, reflective practitioner and mediator in current change processes in the public and private domain in the Netherlands. Finally, Alexander is married to Kitty de Hey and has three wonderful children (Stephanie, Robin-Paul and Alexander jr.) and four grandchildren (Mieke, Willem, Lars and Benthe).
