Hertie School of Governance

Alexander Busold is a PhD student at the Hertie School of Governance and alumnus of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) programme. Before joining the Hertie School, he studied economics, management, and politics in Friedrichshafen, Buenos Aires, and Mumbai. In his PhD, Alexander researches the collaboration between the public administration and civil society in the field of social policy in Germany. In the past, he worked as a research and teaching assistant for political economy at the Hertie School. Outside of academia, he is engaged in many civil society initiatives and gained experience in private and third sector consulting. Alexander is a 2017 fellow of Humanity in Action and founded a sponsorship program for refugees funded by the Avicenna Foundation.
