Biography
Abu Dhabi University
Alberto Peralta holds a PhD degree in Business Administration and is currently an Assistant Professor and Director of Innovation at Abu Dhabi University (UAE), and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Hohenheim (Germany) and Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). A former IBM corporate consultant, and three-time entrepreneur, he researches on business and public innovation, concentrating on sustainable and social innovation, and services innovation and new strategies. His awards include the 2021 Best Dissertation Award from his alma mater (University of Alcala, Spain). He collaborates with relevant academics and practitioners from the USA, Latin-America, Europe, and the Middle East. He has built an expert network that helps improve the chances of new businesses sustainable success, better decision making towards sustainability despite uncertainties and pressures, leverage (agent-based simulations and complex networks) AI network and co-creation initiatives to improve public services (e.g. patient services, cultural services), and close the service delivery loop through collaborative decision making with multiple interest groups.
Research Interests
Dr. Peralta is currently investigating on two complementary strings, which relate to his interests in sustainable (eco-) and social innovation: how innovators can develop new sustainable business models, and how innovators and decision-makers can step up value co-creation in the private and public sectors for social and sustainable innovation. He benefits from his collaboration with renown scholars in social and public innovation like Faiz Gallouj, Luis Rubalcaba, Paul Windrum, or Lars Fuglsang. In the entrepreneurship field, he has worked with giants like Steve Blank and Bob Dorf.
