Biography

I came to Manchester in September 2005, having previously taught at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (1997-2001) and Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent (2001-2005). I studied as an undergraduate and postgraduate at the University of Liverpool.

Supervision areas:

I would welcome PhD proposals in any of area of Romanticism Studies, but especially projects relating British Romantic-period writers to European culture. 

 

Additional activities:

I am a past Editor of the British Association for Romantic Studies Bulletin and Review (2003-2007) and a past member of the Editorial Board of Literature Compass. I was the editor of _The Byron Journal _between 2005-2012 and I am currently a General Editor of Liverpool University Press''s ''English Texts and Studies'' book series. I am also Joint President of the International Association of Byron Societies and sit on the Executive Committee of the London Byron Society.
