Biography

Dr. Aashia Rahman received her PhD from Indian Institute of Science in 2009, for which she was awarded the Dr. Srinivasa Rao Krishnamurthy Gold Medal, M.E degree in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2004, for which she was awarded the UGC fellowship and the University Gold Medal and a B.Tech (Honors., Silver Medal) degree from Vidyasagar University in Instrumentation Engineering in 2002. After completion of M.E degree, she has worked in Haldia Institute of Technology as a Lecturer in the Department of Instrumentation Engineering for more than a year. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser, Heraklion, Greece, which was followed by another postdoctoral fellowship in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2010 to 2011.

  • Metamaterials and negative refractive index.
