About the course

All new teachers and school-related professionals applying for New York State certification must take this state mandated 6-hour workshop in accordance with Article 2 Sections 10-18 of the Education Law.

This workshop meets the Dignity for All Students (DASA) training requirement of the NYS Education Department for state certification.

Teachers College, Columbia University is approved to offer this workshop by the New York State Education Department.

Format Description

Our Summer 2020 DASA workshops will include a 3 hour asynchronous course followed by a 3 hour Zoom session. Approximately ten days prior to your Zoom date, you will receive access to your DASA Canvas course, where you will have several interactive modules to complete on your own time. Participants must complete the asynchronous module prior to attending their designated Zoom session.
