About the course

Piping systems are like arteries and veins. They carry the lifeblood of modern civilization. Piping is a major expenditure in the design and construction of industrial, refinery, petrochemical or power-generating plants when one considers engineering costs, material costs, and fabrication and field labor costs. Proper planning and execution of the design and routing of pipe can have a major impact on controlling the total installed cost. The intention of this course is to provide participants with the academic and practical considerations related to piping systems in general. Attention will be focused on process piping as specified and explained by ASME Code B31.3. The course will also handle some piping practical applications.

Course Objectives

  • Hardness-Toughness- Fatigue – Creep
  • Ferrous Metals (Cast Iron-wrought Iron-Steel)

Piping Codes and Standards

Who should attend

This course is intended for mechanical engineers, facilities engineers, plant engineers, pipeline engineers and piping system designers who are involved in the design of in-plant piping systems for oil and gas facilities. Also suitable for top staff that have experience in related disciplines and wish to expand or refresh their knowledge of the piping field.
